Soaps and Balms

26th August 2011 update.

I am no longer offering cold processed soaps for sale but in the near future I will re-evaluate this and post here if I do.

In the meantime, I am considering experimenting with some melt & pour soaps but that will be some time in the next few months. Stay tuned.

How did I get into this?

The answer is pretty simple. I was trying to find a way to reduce the toxic load on myself and whilst on recovery after being diagnosed with depression anxiety at work I started to look into alternative therapies and healing methods for a wholistic approach to a ‘Better Me’.

The result was a lot of reading and research on a bit of this and a bit of that which led me to looking into how to not poison myself and still feel good about my skin and health.

I started to experiment with using just good oils on my skin and it felt great, then I started making soap for myself.

It was such a satisfying feeling to be able to control what I was using in products I put on myself that I started to share the items I made with people around me. I gave some samples to friends and received great feedback and there has been no stopping since.

A new hobby was born and I wanted to share the results with everyone I could reach out to.

This is how my range of handmade soaps and balms came to be.

When I have a new formulation for a soap or balm, I test it before I put it out for sale. My products are tested firstly on myself and if I am happy with the result, I then hand samples out to friends and family for further feeedback.

In case you didn’t know, it is a legal requirement to be registered to make and sell soaps and balms in Australia.

My license number is #10073 and this allows me to sell the products I make in Australia.

I hope you enjoy using my soaps and balms as much as I have enjoyed making them.

Enjoy.
